Olieverf resultaten oil paint results

As promised here are some photos of my very first oil paint creations I made. The first two photos show the first assignment we had to do with the oil paint. We were only allowed to work with the colours ultramarine blue and zinc white. I have worked in my art journal, we first had to draw a frame and with the help of a cardboard frame we had to decide what to paint. My first attempt is a little clumsy I think, but I'm very happy with the second attempt, if I may say so myself!

After that I made my very first oil painting on canvas! Gosse advised us again to first draw a frame on the canvas in which we had to work. This time we were only allowed to work with four colours: ultramarine blue, zinc white, lemon yellow and burned sienna. He showed us how to mix these, which is an art in itself! Again we used the little cardboard frame and we had to find our subject with objects on 3 different depths. I am quite proud of what I made of this and I really had not thought that I would like doing this só much!

Wow, I'm impressed! Very nice painting using minimal color.
Love your blog!

We spent 3 years in Germany (USAF) and the highlights of our time there were my 4 trips to Holland. I couldn't get enough of it. 40 years later. I still crave ei salat. Not sure if I spelled it right but it was a potato, egg, herring salad......yum!
